Beside the safety ladder itself, I strongly recommend you to have a look at the additional (facultative) ladders accessories that will improve your ladder´s safety, therefor I personally call them the ladder safety equipment:
- as for the step ladder safety, your feet will for sure appreciate some plain comfortable ladder steps. Using them improves your stability and comfort on the ladder;
- at least you should consider using of the so called ladder work platform, that is just one adjustable very comfortable platform to be fastened to your ladder in variable height;
- if you plan to place the ladder on the pavement (or any potentially sliding surface) use the rubber ladder stabilizers;
- if you plan to place the ladder on the lawn or soil surface, use the metal ladders skewers instead, to improve your extension ladder safety;
- to protect the facade of your house use the masonry protection wheels on the upper end of the ladder;
- if you plan to place your ladder on the stairs (or any sloped surface) you should consider using of the ladder leg leveller called also the ladder level lock (you can also buy the ladder leveller swivel feet that offer an easy adjusting of the ladder leg´s length);
- if you´ll use the ladder for painting of the roof or gutters, have a look at various available ladder caddies or tool pouches;
- if your ladder is taller than the height of the wall (it extends over the gutter) you should prevent the gutter from damaging with various ladder stand-offs;
And (it doesn´t concern only the works on the ladders but any works in heights) do not underestimate any protection that improves your safety like protection helmet, roof safety kit, climbing/rigging kit, etc as one never knows...
